Welcome to the August edition of the Learning Library newsletter!
This month I’ve got two new webinars for you that are about two completely different topics, and serving (probably) completely different people within my network. Plus, we are continuing our focus from the last few months, shining the spotlight on even more amazing guest contributors who have generously shared their expertise with the community. Sign up to the Learning Library to access everything for free!
New additions
From me you can access another collaboration: Webinar – The clinical power of low-cost assistive technology
In this webinar I’m joined by special guest presenter @Ilissa Liew from @Unicare Health for an insightful session exploring why simpler, low-cost AT often leads to better long-term use and client outcomes. We covered topics including AT abandonment, the HAAT model and real-life case studies.
From my guest contributors: Webinar – Building your referral pipeline
This guest contribution is from the wonderful @Laura Maguire from Path Allied Health and Path Connect. In this webinar, Laura shares practical, proven strategies for growing your allied health business through referrals, covering where your best referrals really come from, how to build relationships that keep them flowing, and the simple systems that turn one-off referrers into consistent ones.
Focus topic: Guest contributors
There is a lot of content available in the Learning Library, so the second half of the newsletter is always dedicated to highlighting some of the content you may have missed. The spotlight this month continues to be on my guest contributors; a big thank you to everyone who has shared their expertise and resources with my Learning Library subscribers! In this group the focus is on collaborative webinars. Make sure you check out these fantastic contributions:
Pressure care with Ilissa Liew: You’ll find not one, but three different webinars with Ilissa covering beds, mattresses and pressure care mythbusting!
NDIS advocacy: Advocate and lawyer Niti Prakash shares her tips for understanding the ART process and providing the best evidence possible for clients appealing NDIS decisions at the ART.
Equipment hygiene: Kate Hughes from Pure Wheelchairs unpacks the risks of not keeping on top of wheelchair and equipment hygiene, sharing resources to ensure funding for this essential service is allocated in client plans.
Collaborative approaches to AAC: In this webinar I’m joined by Kelvin Kong and Jessica Dickson from Superyou Tech, to answer your frequently asked questions about the OT role in the prescription of AAC, and how we work collaboratively with speech pathologists to get the prescription right.
Mobile commodes: Yet another team up with Unicare Health, this time with Crystal Chan, who shares her tips for selecting appropriate mobile shower commode features to optimise our client’s pressure injury management.
Would you like to add your own resource to the Library one day?
All you need to do is fill in the EOI and tell me about your resource, and I’ll send you the T&Cs. The key point is you need to have a resource (video, webinar, download) that you would be happy for people to freely access via the Library, and in return you’ll get your own little marketing landing page and a plug in my socials and newsletters (including this one!).
Super keen but haven’t signed up to the Learning Library yet?
Do it today! All you need to do is add your name and email address via this link, then check your inbox or junk mail for the login details. If you’ve got an extra couple of minutes, you can even setup the free mobile app straight away.

I’m doing this because there are so many great OTs and other health professional out there with fantastic resources and education services, and the OT and allied health world just don’t know they exist.Spend less time searching for answers and reinventing the wheel, and more time working with your clients!
