Are you an OT student or new grad who would love a little extra help? Then take a look at...
Helping you connect the dots between what you learn at university and what you need to know to be a confident, competent, real-life OT!
You've failed (or almost failed) a clinical placement during university.
You get super nervous whenever you need to speak to a client, their family, or another health professional.
You're having trouble keeping up with all the OT models you're learning about at uni, and can't see how they will apply in real life.
You're struggling with your documentation and report writing - it takes forever, you doubt yourself, and the feedback you've received so far hasn't been specific enough to be helpful.
You can name lots of standardised assessments, but don't really understand what they look like in practice, or why you would choose one over another.
Your supervisor has told you to work on explaining your clinical reasoning, but you're struggling to explain it to yourself!
If you said 'YES' to any of those questions, the YOTT Connector membership is for you!
This is completely normal. But it doesn't mean you need to stay feeling this way.
You may think you'll get better with practice - and this is true - but you'll get much better, much quicker, with the RIGHT type of practice and support.
The right practice involves going back to the Foundations of OT Success and learning core OT skills in a step-by-step manner.
It involves going back to your OT models, understanding the pillars of evidence-based practice and being able to reflect on your practice so you can improve.
This is where the Connector Membership can help!
Each month you’ll be able to access a range of learning opportunities and resources linked to Clare's Foundations of OT Success. Here are some examples of the topics we'll cover:
How to write targeted learning goals, CPD plans and learning strategies that work
Practical skills for prioritising your caseload and managing your time effectively
How to self-reflect to improve your practice and help your supervisor help you
How to use OT models to guide your practice using real-life examples
What the OT process looks like in different settings and caseloads
Simplified and step-by-step ways to search for reliable evidence
Understanding the tricky research stuff - statistics, research methodology and critique forms
How to consider the four pillars of evidence-based practice to choose the right approach for your client
How to explain the OT role to clients and families (and how to adjust your explanation for different settings)
Understanding the roles of the multidisciplinary team so you can collaborate and refer on appropriately
How to build rapport with your clients, using small talk, humour and sharing stories
How to complete an initial assessment in a hospital setting
Choosing and using standardised and non-standardised cognitive assessments to inform your recommendations
Tips and tricks for completing non-standardised activity analyses
Using models and frameworks to prescribe assistive technology
How to provide education your clients will understand and use
How to improve your documentation and report writing skills
Upper limb assessment and treatment modalities
How to deliver helpful feedback to your peers

Here’s a little about me:
I’ve worked as an OT for over 15 years across public and private sectors, in both hospital and community settings.
I’ve worked across lots of different caseloads, including aged care, orthopaedics, burns, hand therapy, neurosciences, surgical, medical, mental health and more.
I work as a sessional academic at a university and have supervised many students and new grads (so I can help you connect the dots between what they teach you at uni and what you need to know to be a great OT).
I’ve presented at international conferences and have a publication in an international peer-reviewed journal.
I'm a busy working mum - I know CPD has to be accessible, affordable and impactful!
I’ve got 13,100+ followers on LinkedIn from around the world (my content is relevant and helpful to lots of OTs!)
Nearly 4000 people have signed up to access my resources, webinars and courses in under two years.
In 2024 I was a finalist for Occupational Therapist of the Year at the Allied Health Awards!!

Who can sign-up for this membership?
The content will be created with OT students and new graduates in mind. All students are welcome to join, however it will be most beneficial for 3rd and 4th year students, or Masters students. It is also recommended for new graduates with 2 years of experience or less, however if you've been out a little longer than that and still think it will be helpful for you, you are welcome to sign-up (some things may just be a little too easy for you). If you are an internationally trained OT where English is your second-language, you may also find the content beneficial and you are welcome to sign-up, no matter how many years of experience you have. Bottom line - I'm happy for any OT student or OT to join as long as you feel the content is right for your learning needs! If in doubt, reach out before signing up.
I'm a business owner - can I get access for my team?
Yes! Bulk discounts may also apply! You may like to sign-up your early career clinicians to compliment the in-house CPD you provide (ask me about a combined membership with access to YOTT Alliance content for more advanced learning options). If you regularly host student placements, you can also purchase corporate access linked to a generic company email address, so that your students will have access to live and on-demand content they can work through in a self-directed manner, to give your student supervisors some student-free time for catching up on admin.
Do I have to sign-up for a long period of time?
The pricing options will be announced soon! You can sign-up month-to-month or lock in a discount and purchase an annual membership (get 12 months for the price of 10!). If you're not ready to commit, join via the standard month-to-month access, where you can pay for one month then leave if it’s not for you. Look for the month-to-month sign-up button when membership registrations open.
Do I have to come to all the live sessions?
It would be great to see you, but I know life is busy. All the sessions will be recorded and added to your on-demand content so you can go and revisit it whenever you like, as many times as you like. If you're in it just for the content and not the live connection, that's fine too. Choose the features of the membership that work for you without any judgement or pressure to come to live sessions.
Can I share my login access with someone else?
Unfortunately not – this price is for one student or OT only. When you make your purchase, this is one of the terms you are agreeing to. If you want to sign-up a team of OTs, get in touch and ask about my corporate bundles for bulk sign-ups.
Do I have to pay for the mobile app?
No, the mobile app comes as part of your membership. You’ll receive details about how to download it and get started once you sign-up.
What if I sign-up via month-to-month but then want to switch to an annual membership?
I can make this happen! Go ahead and purchase the annual membership then I will cancel your month-to-month subscription and refund or organise a credit for any time remaining on your current monthly payment. If you haven't heard from me within 48 hours, contact me at yourottutor@outlook.com and I'll sort it out!
That's fine, but just so you know...
As the content in the membership grows, so will the price.
Take advantage of this discount and lock in your access for 12 months for one low price, even if the standard price goes up during that time.
Clare, with this course you've really set the industry standard. I've completed just about every course on FCA for OT's out there and this is by far the most in-depth, presented in such a systematic and clear way - the effort you've put into making this course is abundantly clear, and honestly I'm so grateful that you've created this to kindly share with your professional network. This course gets a solid 5/5 for me - thank you so so much! :)
Anonymous Occupational Therapist
Clare's dedication to facilitating growth in skills and knowledge is unparalleled, reflected in her mission to 'help occupational therapists to LEARN, GROW, and EXCEL.' Her expertise in how to best support OT students during placements in almost unparalleled in Australia. Equally impressive is her generosity with her time, connecting people to resources and individuals that can further their careers. Clare is indeed a vital asset to our profession.
Dave J - Director and Occupational Therapist
I commend Clare for her ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and create an engaging learning environment. Her passion for empowering clinicians and ensuring high-quality assessments that align with the core principles of the NDIS is truly commendable....I have found Clare to be approachable and responsive, always willing to provide answers and support when needed. Overall, Clare is an invaluable asset to any educational program or training initiative.
Kumar E - Principal Occupational Therapist
As a busy practice owner, I’ve absolutely loved having this resource available for my new grads . Even though I’ve got plenty of my own guides and sample FCA reports to share with them , what I lack is time to sit down and go through these step by step to make sure they truly understand the process. The 8 hours worth of online learning has been a massive investment for me and a valuable resource for my team. Thank you Clare Batkin!
Angie C - Director and Occupational Therapist
Clare has been an invaluable resource for me as a new graduate OT - I regularly check her business page: Your OT Tutor and have recommended my colleagues do the same for easy to digest updates and tips! Clare has gone out of her way to assist me with my CPD portfolio and provided me with such a helpful template to use (a life saver!). Clare is extremely helpful, approachable, and very responsive despite her busy schedule.
Brodie S - New Graduate OT
Clare has done a fabulous job with spearheading 'Your OT Tutor', a journal club that has really helped me stay up to date with the current evidence on topics directly relevant to my practice. Her approach is comprehensive yet practical, given how time-poor clinicians often are, and I am very much looking forward to our 2023 sessions. I highly recommend Clare to other OTs - those starting out as well as others who are more established in the profession - she is an absolute asset to both.
