I’ll be showing you some of my top tips to make your LinkedIn profile stand out, help the LinkedIn algorithm like you, and ensure your target audience will value what you share.
Nerissa will share her tips and resources to make sure you’re aware of what AHPRA says you can and can’t do (even if everyone else isn’t playing by the rules).

A large part of the OT role in most settings is providing our clients with education. It could be about self-management strategies, an exercise program, or instructions about how to use assistive technology. No matter what the setting, there are 5 principles you should be following to ensure your education is making an impact!
1. Are you the expert, or are they?
2. The importance of checking their understanding.
3. Consider health literacy and cultural considerations.
4. More than a brochure! Getting creative to enhance engagement.
5. Pacing the delivery to provide the right amount at the right time.
Interested in finding out about what these principles are all about? Join the alliance!

Standardised assessments can offer lots of value in many OT caseloads, but we need to be using them in the right way for the right reasons.
In this workshop I used some case study examples and lots of practical screen-sharing to help you avoid these common mistakes:
-Trying to use standardised assessments alone to make recommendations, when non-standardised options are essential
-Second-guessing yourself trying to work out which tool you should be using in different caseloads (including NDIS)
-Using standardised assessments with populations they weren’t intended to be used with
-Completing standardised assessments just because “we always use this one” without consideration for whether it is adding value for individual clients
-Wasting time trying to manually score or write-up results when there’s tech options to do it for you!
As an OT, do you feel confident knowing when to refer to other clinicians and when joint assessment or treatment sessions may be a good idea?
What about the trickier scenarios – like when there is an overlap of scope, or your treatment priorities clash, or where you have a strong feeling that the approach they are using could be causing your client harm?
In July's workshop I was joined by a very special guest, Speech Pathologist and Allied Health manager at Amend Rehab, Sarah Raffell, who helped me cover all these questions and more in the workshop. There were case studies and lots of discussion to give you lots of practical tips that you can incorporate into your clinical practice straight away. We covered examples from both inpatient and community settings so everyone can benefit.
In this workshop I’m going to bring out your inner #OTNerd to help you embrace evidence-based practice. We’ll answer questions like: •How do you find research evidence?
•How do you evaluate it to make sure it is actually relevant to your practice?
•And how do you translate words in a journal article or clinical practice guideline to something practical?
I’ll also cover what evidence-based practice is, share my top clinical practice guidelines that OTs should know about, and share some practical tips about how you can use research evidence to strengthen your report writing. This will be a practical session with lots of screensharing and case study examples, so you’ll be able to start using these skills straight away in your own practice.
In this workshop we're going back to the reason why you became an OT in the first place - so you can be socially inclusive, occupation-focused and client-centred! We often find ourselves working in broken systems, but this doesn't mean we shouldn't try to find ways to enact our values. The CORE approach, and other OT models, will
provide a mechanism for OTs to reflect on their practice to ensure they are practicing in an inclusive, occupation-centred way. I've called in the expertise of Dr Robert Pereira to help with this!
The first YOTT Alliance workshop was all about empowering yourself through CPD. I take you through how to plan and choose CPD that aligns with your caseload and career goals, and what steps you can take to ensure you are making changes to your practice as a result of attending the CPD. We also covered what the AHPRA rules are for collecting evidence about your CPD and what systems you can use to keep track of it all. You'll even get access to my CPD portfolio template if you're old school and like to keep everything in a Word doc!

Clare, with this course you've really set the industry standard. I've completed just about every course on FCA for OT's out there and this is by far the most in-depth, presented in such a systematic and clear way - the effort you've put into making this course is abundantly clear, and honestly I'm so grateful that you've created this to kindly share with your professional network. This course gets a solid 5/5 for me - thank you so so much! :)
Anonymous Occupational Therapist
As a busy practice owner, I’ve absolutely loved having this resource available for my new grads . Even though I’ve got plenty of my own guides and sample FCA reports to share with them , what I lack is time to sit down and go through these step by step to make sure they truly understand the process. The 8 hours worth of online learning has been a massive investment for me and a valuable resource for my team. Thank you Clare Batkin!
